This is offered by the INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA, a duly registered Institute by passing of an Act in parliament.

In India the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) does the job of regulating the profession of Chartered Accountancy, which was set up under the Chartered Accountancy Act, 1949.

Career in CA gives you an entry into the profession at a managerial level with giant corporate as well as to start independent practice. This is a reputed career and its importance has been growing steadily with the technological advancement in business systems. A chartered Accountant holds prestige in the society and earns handsomely.

Course structure

  Section A Fundamentals of Accounting 60 Marks
  Section B Mercantile law 40 Marks
      100 Marks
  Section A General Economics 50 Marks
  Section B Quantitative Aptitude 50 Marks
      100 Marks

Pattern of Examination
  • Common Proficiency Test (C.P.T) has one paper of four hours duration carrying 200 Marks. The Test comprises of two sessions of 2 Hours each with a break of 1 Hour between two sessions.

  • This is an objective type test with Multiple Choice and a flexible scheme of negative marking for choosing wrong options.

  • You need to score 50% of the total marks to qualify.

  • Test is conducted twice in a year: June & December.
